Step 1: Company Registration
From being an individual or a team, be a registered entity by setting up a company under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) as Private Limited (Best Suitable for Startups) or Limited Liability Partnership. It's mandatory to register in Tamil Nadu to avail of all benefits from StartupTN.

  1. Register a Company through MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) Website

    1. As a first step, check for name availability.   https://www.mca.gov.in/mcafoportal/showCheckCompanyName.do

    2. Once the desired name is available, then download the form for applying:  https://www.mca.gov.in/MinistryV2/llpformsdownload.html

    3. Applicant can access the online services in clarifying any of his doubts in applying for registration of firm. Visit the following link for options to help in registering the firm: https://www.mca.gov.in/content/mca/global/en/contact-us/roc.html 
      (On the given page, select MCA SERVICES menu. This menu has list of options to cater applicants requirement. Please choose the required services online.)

    4. Applicant shall register with registrar of companies.: https://www.mca.gov.in/content/mca/global/en/contact-us/roc.html

  2. Register a Company through Charted Accountant/ Company Secretary

    1. Company or firm registration can be initiated with the help of a Charted accountant/Company Secretary.

    2. In registering the company, one has to make sure that the name proposed has not already been used or applied for registration.

    3. Digital signature certificate for the director of the proposed firm has to be acquired.

    4. Then Acquire Director Identification Number (DIN).

    5. Filing an e-Form or New user registration.

    6. Finally Incorporation of the company is done.

    7. Applicant will get MOA and certificate.

  3. Register through Online Company registration providers (Eg: Vakilsearch)



Step 2:Startup India Recognition
After the successful company registration, you will receive a Company Identification Number (CIN) from MCA. To be a recognized Startup India you need to get a Recognition certificate from Startup India by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). https://www.startupindia.gov.in/content/sih/en/recognition-page.html


Step 3: StartupTN Registration
Now you are a registered startup in India. You can avail all the benefits of being a Startup in India. Apart from that, Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission also provides many exclusive Programs and Schemes for Startups from Tamil Nadu.  To be eligible for that, you have to register on the StartupTN portal. http://startuptn.in/
